Percival Valentine is a sort of “welcoming committee” for the quality visitors to his small town. He makes his rounds discovering what needs each resident has and arranges to supply them. But he is delighted when three upper-crust visitors come to town. He sets out to court the young woman of the three, but he starts to get a sense that Mr. Everest, the more upper-crust of the three, is actually courting him. It is very enjoyable to watch Percival come to realize that he is attracted to a man also. When the identity of Mr. Everest comes to light, it is gratifying to find him and Percival together,  thoroughly countrified.
